Evan and the Babies: Random information

1. Cora reminds Mitchell regularly that the Cardinals are leading the Dodgers in the division championship.

2. The anti-fracking protests have spread to Bucharest. We even saw one outside city hall on the way to dinner. Then, we had late breaking news at dinner when we saw on the news that Chevron has suspended their exploratory activity.

3. Delia's favorite words are ball, opa, chai, and to a lesser extent mama. I'm not sure what opa means but it is a demand for something lie pick me up or put me down. We are trying to teach her to say minge instead of ball. Delia figures if she repeats a word often enough we will figure out what she wants.

4. Ionuts can smell food even when he can't see it. They call him graselo or fat boy. I for one am happy to see a chubby child unlike all the tiny thin ones that we usually see.

5. Cora brought crayons and paper today. Georgiana and Alina drew for about two minutes and lost interest. But Georgiana was very excited when she saw them.

6. In addition to the yogurt snack this morning the children had mashed bananas this afternoon. They loved them. Well, except for Ionuts who loved it but had a throw up incident. Thanks to Mitch for cleaning it up.

7. Mitchell is Ionut's new best friend. This is good because Mitchell is strong enough to lift him.

8. I love walking Luca down the hall. Besides how much he enjoys it, it reminds me of walking Gaby up and down the hall.

9. Thank goodness Alina no longer wants to go up and down the stairs.

10. This is my 9th time here and the first time I have gotten mosquito bites.

11. It was fun watching Luca play with some toys today. He seems a bit more engaged and is spending less time on the see saw or rocking horse. When we put him on the see saw , I figure it is a reward for doing other things!

12. Luca does, however, have the unfortunate habit of reaching for Georgiana's potty under the crib. Today he emptied it on himself before starting to chew on it.

13. Luciana is in the lead for the most escapes from the play room. One of us is always running after her. That girl does know how to crawl.

14. Coca asked about Raul today. She was so happy to see the pictures of him on Caroline's Facebook page.

15. My apologies to future volunteers for bringing the toy that plays yo Gabba Gabba. It is a song that stays with you.

16. Mitchell and Shannon were introduced to the Alona, aka the creepy doll, restaurant tonight. I took a picture of the dolls for Jane. I also thought of Robin as the others ate papanasci (Romanian donuts) for dessert, remembering that was her nickname for a round faced baby whose real name escapes me at the moment.

17. The English people at the hotel left today with 15 dogs in the back of their rented van. They are taking them back to be adopted. I have a question. Why can people in England adopt dogs and not children?
