Getting to know you

Today we had a better feel for each child's unique personality and needs and I think they had a better feel for us!  We know that Ilinca falls asleep between 11:30 and 12:00; that Lavinia and Maria cry when they are hungry; that Marian loves the little dog that laughs like a hyena; and, that Luciana rules the playroom.  Thinking back to Luci when I first met her two years ago, I would never have predicted this!

Dan commented that Luci tends to do the things other girls her age do like okay with baby dolls.  She actually pretends to change the doll's diaper and put it to bed and loves raising and lowering the side of the crib (with help of course.) Laura brought a little purse with a comb and mirror and grape chap stick and Luci promptly put the purse over her arm and spent about 20 min. putting on the chap stick. Too cute.

Liviu continues to amaze us with his smarts. He may not know his letters and numbers but he learns quickly.  Like most of the children, he would flourish if he was in a home with a family.  We keep trying to figure out how he can get assistive devices so he can be more mobile.

We were happy to see Jenny at dinner.  Jenny is the wonderful volunteer who is an OT and made the splint so Delia can eat by herself.  She is here to make another one for her since Delia is growing.
